"Christmas Workshop: Greenery Hanging Basket"
Wednesday, December 4th, 2019
Thanks to all who came out to support us, to all members who came out to work, to those who brought donations for the delicious snack, to Anna Regele and Carrie Anne Field and their helpers who helped make up the kits, to all who brought donations for the delicious luncheon, to the helpers in the kitchen, especially Claudette Black, Ruth Webb, and Irene Bond, to those who stayed behind to clean up, and to Anna for being a great teacher.
Youth Gardeners
ln August, judges Lois Dekker and Dorothy de Champlain visited the yards of 1-6 young people who had been caring for their own gardens for several months. The children were responsible for the planting, weeding, and general care for their gardens. lt took Lois and Dorothy several days to complete this task.
They reported that it was a difficult job to make choices but once again they did a fine job. We hope that this important part of our mandate will continue next year and that if there is anyone in the Society who would like to be involved, they will contact us. Placement of gardens and trophies will be announced at the October General Meeting!

In Memoriam:
Les Peever
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of a long-time member and past Board member of our Society. Les was always there to assist with setting up and taking down of our past flower shows and generally, being supportive of all our activities. Condolences to the Peever families.

Annual Meeting: Jan.16, 2019
We had a great time at the Annual Meeting in our new location in the United Church Hall. Wonderful food appeared for the potluck (including a delicious trifle!). Twyla Wilson ran the elections, Jean Bott was invested as the President of the Society, Evelyne Nemcsok is First Vice, and Carrie Anne Field is our new Second Vice. Carrie Anne Field presented long time member, Claudette Black, with the Horticultural Service Certificate for her years of service to our club. Congratulations to Claudette! The presentation by Jeff Warner of Aidie Creek Gardens was amazing. More information about the maze, the pumpkins, and the fall activities later. Great job, Jeff and thank you for your support and involvement!
All in all, it was a very successful Annual Meeting. (E. Fisher, R. Heaslip)
