Annual Plant and Bake Sale
On May 20th we were back to having our annual Plant and Bake Sale, and with great success! People were once again lined up and down the sidewalk to get in , the Temiskaming Speaker was there to report on it as well. A bird house was raffled off a s a door price, and any items left left over were brought to the Secretary's driveway and the sale was extended on an honor system. This was such a great time, and such a multi purposed event that benefits so many people.

Val Kennedy - Garden Bodies
Personal Trainer, Fitness Specialist & Active Aging Coach Val Kennedy led us through some exercises and stretches and gave us some good reminders to keep in shape before, during and after our gardening workouts!
Val not only reminded us about the importance of drinking lots and lots of water, and treating out bodies as temples - she also taught us how to pose!

Bruce Murphy: "Bird Bistros"
Bruce Murphy from the Hilliardton Marsh made a presentation to the Society on Bird Bistros - Ghost Trees and Hummingbird Mist: Creating a bird and pollinator garden habitat.
Full of wonderful tidbits of information as usual, Bruce's presentation told us about wonderful Ghost Trees, and how they made a great attraction for birds looking to get a meal and or possibly settle down and start a family.
He also suggested that a misting attachment for your hose could be key in keeping the hummingbirds happy - worth a try!
