"Plant a Pot of Bulbs For Forcing": Carrie Anne Field
and "The Jaded Gardener": Deb Murray
General Meeting of the Society on Wed. Sept. 16 was a "Plant a Pot of Bulbs" for forcing in the spring: tulips, daffodils, crocuses, etc. Those attending layered a 10" pot with bulbs and soil supplied by the Society. As well, Deb Murray challenged all those attending with caring for and "raising" a baby jade plant for a year: then we'll evaluate who had the best success, who were the more creative ones, etc. The night was a lot of fun!
July 2015:

April 2015: Shelley Denommé: "Spring Vase Arrangements":
Shelley from the Englehart Flower Shop demonstrated how to make a one sided arrangement in a tall vase. She used white glads and flag iris, yellow, orange, and pink tulips, yellow gerberas, with myrtle and pussy willows. She stressed the importance of changing the water in the vase every two to three days to avoid the build-up of bacteria, which can shorten the life of the blossoms. After completing the lovely arrangement, Shelley took the design apart and everyone went home with some flowers. Linda Murray presented Shelley with a gift for her demonstration.
